Sour Cream Cookies

Sour Cream Cookies!

These sour cream cookies are the best! My mom made them for me as a child and I make them for my children. I know that you and your family will love them!

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Butter Softened
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 8oz Sour Cream
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 3 3/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt


  1. Combine first 3 ingredients and beat until fluffy.

  2. Stir in sour cream & vanilla and mix well.

  3. Combine dry ingredients & add to cream mixture beating well.

  4. Chill dough at least 1 hour.

  5. Divide dough into fourths or thirds. Take out one part and leave the rest in the fridge.

  6. Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters.

  7. Place on un-greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. You don't want to wait for the cookies to brown. These cookies are supposed to be very light colored. 

  8. Remove and cool on wire racks. Ice using my cookie icing recipe!
