Lavender Scented Slime

Kids love to play with slime!

My daughter loves the squishy feel of slime between her fingers. I have to admit, it is pretty fun to play with;)

And slime is sooo easy to make! It only took us a couple of minutes to mix this batch of lavender slime up! A super simple and cheap craft that will not only keep your kids entertained for hours, but is great for sensory stimulation as well!

Slime Recipes

One of the things that I love most about slime is how great it is for sensory stimulation and fine motor skills! Everything from squishing and pulling, to cutting it out with cookie cutters is great for developing fine motor skills!

And the feel and smell of the slime helps to stimulate the senses, making this a great activity for those with sensory processing disorder.

As you can see, slime is a great activity for kids of all ages!

Definitely add this slime to your to do list! Your kids will love it!

Essential Oils For Slime

Now you might be wondering how you make this slime smell like lavender.

As a naturally minded mother of four, and as an aromatherapist, I can not use a synthetic scent! I just can’t do it!

So I used Lavender Essential Oil! Essential oils are a great way to naturally scent slime!

Calming Slime

And when using lavender essential oil in your slime for your kids to play with, you are also using an oil that is calming and relaxing! This makes this lavender slime a great item to give kids to play with when they are being hyper or need to calm down after doing something that was too stimulating.

Or make this an activity that they can do just before bed!

Whenever you need something to distract, calm, and keep them busy, pull out this slime!

In addition to lavender essential oil, I also add in some dried lavender pieces.

This gives it extra scent and some texture. Plus I think it looks kind of cool;)

How to Make Scented Slime Without Scented Glue

How to Make Slime Videos

You can read here to find out how to make the slime, or you can also watch the above video so that you can actually see me mix it up!

Start by adding the clear glue to a bowl.

Next you want to add the fun ingredients:) Drip the lavender essential oil into the glue mixture and sprinkle the dried lavender onto it.

Mix it really well to evenly incorporate the flowers and oil.

Now add the baking soda to the glue. Mix it in well.

The only ingredient left to add is the contact lens solution. You’ll notice that as soon as you start stirring after adding the contact lens solution, that the slime will begin to become slime!

When it reaches the point that you can no longer easily stir the slime, then it’s time to start kneading and squishing it with your hands to completely incorporate the solution into the other ingredients.

Doesn’t it smell wonderful?! And it feels so squishy! My kids loved the smell of it and the feel of it squishing between their hands!

I hope you and your child enjoy this lavender scented slime as much as we do! Be sure to come back after making it and leave me a comment letting me know how much your kids enjoyed playing with it!

Did you add the dried lavender flowers? Did you enjoy the smell? I can’t wait to hear about your slime making experience!
