Halloween Slime

My kids all loved to play with this halloween slime! They loved to feel it between their fingers and to squish it:)

Slime Recipes

One of the things that I love most about slime is how great it is for sensory stimulation and fine motor skills! Everything from squishing and pulling, to cutting it out with cookie cutters is great for developing fine motor skills!

And the feel of the slime helps to stimulate the senses, making this a great activity for those with sensory processing disorder.

As you can see, slime is a great activity for kids of all ages!

Definitely add these slimes to your to do list! Your kids will love it!

Monster Slime

Slime Monster

The first slime we’re going to make is the monster slime!

Monster slime can be whatever color you’d like, but we made our monster orange. I think the orange looks very appropriate for halloween:)

It’s really easy to make yet lots of fun to play with!

First you need to gather your ingredients:

1/2 Cup Clear Glue

2 tsp. Baking Soda

1 Tbsp. Contact Lens Solution (with boric acid in it)

Orange Food Coloring (I used the red color in this pack to get the orange you see in the pics)

Googly Eyes

After gathering all of your ingredients it’s time to get started!

How to Make Slime Videos

You can read here to find out how to make the slime, or you can also watch the above video so that you can actually see me mix it up!

Start by adding the clear glue to a bowl. Then add the food coloring. I used a natural food coloring. It actually was supposed to be red, but the red turned out to be orange;)

You can add as much food coloring as you need to reach the shade of orange that you like. I kept adding until mine was a dark orange, kind of like a burnt orange color.

Now add the baking soda to the glue. Mix it in well.

The only ingredient left to add is the contact lens solution. You’ll notice that as soon as you start stirring after adding the contact lens solution, that the slime will begin to become slime!

When it reaches the point that you can no longer easily stir the slime, then it’s time to start kneading and squishing it with your hands to completely incorporate the solution into the other ingredients.

And that’s it! Now it’s time to play:) Get the googly eyes and press them into the slime. Now you have a halloween slime monster!

Doesn’t it look cool?! And it feels so squishy! My kids loved playing with it and feeling it squish between their hands!

Ghost Slime

Now that you have monster slime, you need to make ghost slime to go along with it!

Ghost slime is even easier than monster slime!

To make ghost slime you need to start by gathering your ingredients. It’s pretty much the same as monster slime:

1/2 Cup Clear Glue

2 tsp. Baking Soda

1 Tbsp. Contact Lens Solution (with boric acid in it)

2 Googly Eyes

Halloween Slime

The only differences between ghost slime and monster slime is that you aren’t going to add food coloring and you aren’t going to use as many eyes.

Once your slime is done it will be a perfect ghost white. Stretch it and squish it into ghost shapes and add two eyes. Now you have a ghost to go with your slime monster!
